For many years I have been going to Bali & Lombok for holidays and my most favorite place, the place I always return to, is the island of Gili Nanggu.
I can’t think of anywhere comparable. It is a haven away from the demands and noise of the world, it is so laid-back, uncomplicated and restful that it is a small paradise, the perfect place to totally relax and unwind.
Most of all I love the white sand beaches; the gloriously warm, clean waters and the coral reef being just meters from the shoreline holding such a variety of fish. I really appreciate how life on the island provides the time and space to read a pile of books or spend the days wander the coastline or take local outrigger boat to the nearby islands or explore the paths amongst the trees or watch the turtles in their breeding ponds or see the sun rise over Lombok’s Mt. Rinjani & set on Bali’s Mt. Agung.
I also enjoy the restaurant as the menu has simple recipes that are deliciously cooked, served by the staffs who are so friendly and easy going. There is nothing on Nanggu that is formal.
I am always so glad that Gili Nanggu hasn’t been turned into a popular tourist destination and that it has been kept low profile with only a limited number of guests staying on the island at any one time. It is also pleasing to find only one television and one phone on the island …and to discover that life without technology is a joy and never boring.
Gili Nanggu is for those who want simple accommodation and good food at a very modest price. It is the place for those who fancy getting away from all the noise, bustle, hawkers and tourist trappings of Bali & Lombok. It is for travelers who want to sleep with the windows wide open, not need a mossie net and not want to be always thinking about safety or security. This island is for those who are looking for a haven in a lovely natural setting…it is a special place for me.

We really enjoyed our stays at Gili Nanggu. That’s a lovely place, for resting, enjoying snorkeling on a beautiful coral reef with so beautiful fishes. The most important and what, in my point of view, is the specificity of this island, is the fact that this island is still natural, without concrete, noise, sellers on the beach. The cottages are coconut wood built so this contribute to the exotic atmosphere.
Another point, for whom who knows the crowded beaches in Europe, Gili Nanggu beach is a paradise. Anyone can find an isolate place on the beach, only for him.Maybe it is difficult to understand for people who live in such beautiful country like Indonesia but for Western people and more generally all people, who live in a crowded and polluted town, being in a small island far away from crowd, noise, pollution, stress, is a kind of phantasm and dream.I hope you will not build too many new cottages, and you will respect the natural aspect of this island which is so attractive. The staff is very friendly and professional. We have particularly enjoyed the welcome of Bapak Jusuf and all the staff.Your action for the preservation of the sea turtles is also something very important. It’s important for the biodiversity conservation but it’s also interesting for guests to see sea turtles in real.My family and I keep a very very good feeling and memory of this little paradise. Sure, we will come back to Gili Nanggu as soon as possible. Thanks again for this stay in paradise.

We would be very pleased if you choose to put the pictures on your website.
We will most certainly be visiting Gili Nanggu again as we enjoyed our short stay on our first visit and we wish you every success with the resort as well.
